Hacky Sack

I started using the foot sack a little over a week ago. Ive just been using it as a ball to press my foot into while standing. I’m a reflexologist and a structural reflexologist who recently learned to work the anatomy train, the line of fascia that runs from the bottoms of the feet, up the back of the legs, the sacrum and spine, shoulders, back of the neck, over the scalp and on to the eyebrows by standing on a ball with one foot, pressing in a pulse like action or leaning into the ball with the foot for sustained moments for a total of 90 seconds. Before you start, you stand and bend over to notice the sensations in the back side of your body, and how one hand may seem to reach farther than the other. I noticed that my left hand reached farther than less than my right and I had tension in the backs of my legs, hips and spine. I started with the left foot first, pulsing my foot unto the ball and found super tight, stiff sore areas in the arch, heel and ball of the foot. I pushed on tight sore spots and held for up to 10 seconds on those spots. I moved the ball around to get all areas of the arch and heel and a place or two under the ball of the foot for a total of a minute and a half. I retested by bending over again and found my left hand reached further than my right and the tension in the backs of my legs, my hips and my back were less tight. I repeated the sequence for my right foot and found a lot less tension in the back of my body afterwards than when I started. We also tried using a tennis ball in this class, which could be more intense in a few places, but the foot sack doesn’t roll away suddenly, and confirms to the shape of your feet, so it works much better than a tennis ball in the heel and ball of the foot and is quite effective fir the arch. I have been using the ball daily and the tight sore areas in the arches, notably the left foot which had a previously shifted cuboid bone for years, up to 3 years ago when I had structural reflexology, have lessened. I just bought a dozen of the balls first clients to purchase and have detailed for them on how to work this particular anatomy train of fascia in my most recent email newsletter.

I Love these TFC Foot sacks 💚💙. Well priced and great quality ( i did shop around and compare 😬 ) , my podiatry patients luv them . Such a great educational tool for young and old .
I started off with rolled up socks but definitely prefer the foot sacks for practicing my Blue belt flow. Keep in mind they are firm to start with, but with time and practice they do softer up, and it does get easier.
Love picking them up with my toes and throwing them at my kids, practicing flows with them on my head and improving my hand eye coordination with the ”flat, back, cup” routine s too .
